I'm planning on getting a bunch of beginner climbing shoes for my university club.

I'm looking at the cheapest Simond rock shoes at £30 each. Does anyone know of a better mix of price/durability/undesirability in beginners shoes? I have not seen these shoes being used in any climbing centres, but I can't find anything obviously more appropriate.

Contact Red Chili. I believe they have just started marketing a 'beginners' type shoe for bulk purchase, eg by climbing walls and clubs.

I bought ClimbX Crush Lace shoes as my first shoes and they've been great, very durable, comfortable, cheap and in no way the limiting factor in my climbing...
