Just a short post to say how pleased I've been with the repairs that have been done to a down jacket and down gilet by both Rab and Alpkit. Very good quality work done quickly and for a good price. Both recommended.
I had expected to thrown out the gilet, which, with two gaffa taped patches, had been relegated to gardening duty and then been used by an old and very ill and dribbly cat as a bed. It was looking very manky and smelly. Nikwax Downwash in a domestic washing machine and tumble drier restored it almost completely and Alpkits's patch repair people did the rest.
Definitely worth trying to clean and fix kit before buying expensive replacements.
