I want to carry on using my Alpkit Gamma headtorch, but one of the tiny lugs on the battery door has broken off so the door won't shut. Does anyone have a quick fix?

That's a common problem, I think. Worth contacting Alpkit, they'll probably help you out somehow.

Electrical tape around the length of the compartment worked on mine. Obviously needs replacing every time you change the batteries though.

In reply to stevesmith:

Those releasable cable ties work fine for this .

Its a good head torch but that's a common fault on it.

Yep, i had the same issue, tape / cable ties work, but in the end I emailed alpkit and they sent me two new battery compartments. Good customer service, but the fact that they sent two spares suggested they don't  much confidence that it won't happen again.

Have a look for velcro cable ties, I use them loads for this worth of thing.

Cable ties for me. To be honest mine has been relegated to DIY chores only. I like Alpkit but this isn't their best product.

Contact Alpkit for spare parts (parts are free, but you are asked to pay postage).

Follow the instructions in their video:

I did this for two Gammas that we have.

Gamma 3 has been updated to avoid the issue.

Just checked - Alpkit have run out of Gamma v1 battery cases, so it's cable ties!
