Hi Guys

We booked flights only to Germany in Feb 2020 before lockdown.

Approaching July, we rescheduled the flights and are now hoping to go in July 2021.

We have not yet got insurance, as we were going to do it closer to the time.

1) what travel insurance would you recommend?

2) Given the covid situation, what is the position with being insured for that?

I'm struggling to get my head around it.

Thank you in advance for you in advice.

BMC, AAA or Snowcard are the ones most mentioned on here.

Covid will be excluded.

If it were me I'd push the flights back again.

Avoid Dogtag, the company has been taken over by scammers. We use Snowcard but I can't say if they are any good or not as I've never claimed.

Ahh interesting, so none of the mainstream providers do it? AXA/Aviva etc ?

You'd need to check the policy in question but most will cover COVID medical expenses provided you're not travelling against FCO advice (who knows whether that will be the case in July) but won't cover COVID related disruption / cancellation etc. Given that COVID is the most likely source of cancellation there's probably not much point in taking out a policy until it looks reasonably likely you will be going.

Snowcard were good when my wife developed Pleurisy whilst on hols. No problems whatsoever, and they certainly didn't shirk their responsibility because they sent someone to Germany to escort her and our daughter home (2 flights).

Thanks for that. Too many people, more on online reviews will rate services without them actually being challenged. Getting feedback like this is very useful.

If you do the Hollentall route there's a bit of glacier, scrambling and via ferrata. BMC insurance will be fine.

If you ride up in the cable car probably no need
