Last years I've been getting more into Alpine climbing.

I would like to read up on my alpine climbing technique skills in English (including snow & ice technique).

My friend has a very good alpine technique guidebook from SAC which is unfortunately in Swiss German. Would like to get something simular in English.

I've been looking at 'Alpine Climbing: Techniques to Take You Higher' but I think that might not include basic techniques which is something I would prefer to be covered also.

Please tell me your recommendations, thanks.

"Mountaineering: The Freedom of the Hills"

The bible - 624 pages of it (!) and now in it's 9th edition (2017).

This gets my vote:

As well is covering basic techniques in isolation it also details what happens at each stage of the climbing day, using a number of real-world, beginner-friendly routes as examples.

Another vote for Bruce Goodlands 'Alpine Mountaineering' - relevant information, clearly laid out, good quality photos and route suggestions also.
