I recently climbed a volcano in Gutemala. It was only 3900m. Anyway I camped at 3700m and got really sick in the morning. All the classic signs... headache, dizziness, vomitting, dry mouth. Barely made it down unassisted to recover.
Anyway, I've been up to and slept at 4000m plenty of times and the only difference this time is that I have a perforated eardrum and I'm on antibiotics for it.
Does anyone have any knowledge or reason as to why this would make the onset of AMS worse?
