My daughter and her boyfriend are off to the Julian Alps at the beginning of June for some hillwalking/scrambling/peak bagging probably including Triglav.

They're going lightweight and want to keep luggage to a minimum, and wondering if they'll need ice axes (or crampons).  Anyone know if its been a particularly snowy (or particularly dry warm) spring out there? Anyone been in the mountains there recently?

I would have thought so - I only know about slightly further west in the Dolomites and there has been a lot of late season snow.

We have very wet and higher up very snowy spring this year. There is no way for snow to melt in such a short time.
