Any advice on good affordable insurance inc heli rescue for trekking up to 6,500 meters?
Cheers,
Edd
The BMC is probably the best bet, Himalayan type insurance has got very expensive in recent years through excessive calls for helicopters.
Austrian Alpine Club will cover treks and climbs below 6000m if thats any good. Abouit £50 for a years cover I think. Details... https://aacuk.org.uk/p-mountain-rescue-search-insurance

BMC or Snowcard.
Will trekking be the whole trip or just a part? We've found it's cheaper to use top up cover (sports cover direct) under most circumstances, alongside travel insurance from our credit card.
