Wouldn't you be 17? I'm not sure they'd take you, and you'd have other things on your mind. But I get your drift, and share it.

A friend worked there for a bit, she loved it and has some great stories.

Yes, they were advertising the posts in the 1960s. I was tempted but not keen on the 2 year contract, and I knew b*gger all about general handyman work including maintaining 2 stroke engines, a pre-requisite,  so my career took a different course.

I have always regretted not applying for it when I was a young man.

I applied for an "over wintering" generalist position when I was fairly fresh out of Uni.  Sadly, while I had the technical skills, I'd not at that point got any real winter mountaineering experience, which let me down.

Still, it would have been an experience!
