Looks like an attempt to make a really bad advert for Go-pro.

A guy on skis, not skiing. Woeful.

Very poor video and not a great ski line really, if you want to watch somebody skiing huge lines well then look no further than the Jeremie Heitz film La Liste from a while back:

That's not skiing. It's falling with style.

In reply to all the above:  yep its not the best video, and certainly not the best skiing Nicolas has ever done - but for all those pushing Jeremie Heitz's video (which is gob-smacking) it is worth bearing and mind that Nico and Loris (Falquet) were mentors to Jeremie when he was a young lad...

(and also worth seeking out some of the better Falquet bros footage...).

He's actually a superb skier, it's just a very poor video.

But surely downhill skiing is just a controlled fall.

Calling an activity a 'controlled fall' is a bit silly really. You could say it about any gravity assisted activity, abseiling, downhill MTB, running, base jumping, parachuting etc and be none the wiser about what that activity actually involved or the range of skills required to do it.

In the same way as climbing is just pulling on holds, yes.

Saw a chap go off  Helvelyn down the face above Red Tarn in the 1980's, gave us all a bit of a start, hadn't even heard of extreme skiing back then. From memory, I think he was French. He made it down fine (if a bit stop - start), then got us to throw his haversack down the face after him, the bag didnt do so well...
