here's the ice book. Brief translation. Patri left hand in but a bit thin and covered in snow.

There are some updates at the link above (use the left/right arrows at the bottom of the page to scroll between different pages in the ice book). Looks like Patri is ok - it’s high up so usually a reliable bet. Another route mentioned as well. So should be stuff to do as long as you’re prepared to walk further up into the valleys.

Is there much technically easy stuff higher up in cogne?

Never been so don’t know. Going on Sunday so we’ll find out. My mate has the guidebook so he’s going to have a look. Any further info re G3 ish routes high up appreciated.

Another question- if ice routes are a no go, or they are v limted, does anyone know if short alpine routes, such as Petit Flambeau, are doable without skis from the Skyway Mont Blanc?

L'Acheronte should be in condition if Patri is, as long as the avalanche risk is suitably low etc. It's a classic WI3 just to the right of Patri.

Thanks- looks good. V little snow on the forecasts I’ve seen in the last week so avalanche risk will hopefully be low
