Does anyone know if the premium/enhanced Aac insurance has a limitation on the grades you intend to climb? I think the basic one limits you to uiaa 5, but I can't see the premium one has a limit..

Cheers

You think wrong

https://www.alpenverein.at/portal_wAssets/docs/service/versicherung/oav_ver...

Limitation on climbing are only for the altitude (peak sub 6000m, yer golden) and artic+antartic region & Greenland.

N.b. While not stated in the desciption, I do recall that previously also climbing in continental Norway (say, Kvaloya or even Lofoten) is covered, even while technically the former is clearly in artic (above artic circle), and I do recall also Lofoten being there. But do check out first, don't trust someone random in the Internet.

I'm not sure, the policy for standard cover has this

'For ascents of mountains with a summit height
above 6,000 m, a separate insurance is offered.
Information and documentation, see:
www.alpenverein.at/versicherung
The insurance protection also extends to accidents
that occur when taking part in the activity of mountain
climbing with exceptional risk (climbing at difficulty
level 5 UIAA and up, free solo ascents (unsecured climb-
ing) and icefall climbing).'

But that actually answers my original question so thanks!

It's not clear if uiaa5 is covered by basic cover, but the above suggests not..
