Thinking of a visit next summer for some rock climbing...

Silly question maybe, but since the wee Grands Montets fire last year, does the Plan Joran lift now open in summer for access?

Anyone visit this past summer and what kind of hike time was it to the hut from there via Lognan?

Would I be right in thinking a good 3-4 hours?

Ta!

yes. and yes. From Plan Joran you walk the wide land-rover track, and then join a ridge that leads steeply to a cliff at the edge of the Arg glacier. Then a scramble down to the glacier, followed  by a  reasonable stroll to the hut. Don't know why, but it always feels like a slog. Last time out, my climbing buddy got heat stroke.  3-4hrs,

JC
