Hello all,

im look for some advise. I’m looking for a alpine skills course to do this year with some guided peaks at the end as I’ll be traveling alone.

Does anyone know of any reputable guides/ courses at a reasonable price?

I’m aware of PYB, BMC etc just wanted to know if there was anything else out there that I might have missed.

Cheers for your feedback,

Ryan

Any British Mountain Guide, but I'll recommend my good mate James Thacker, he lives in Chamonix.

Ben is brilliant - https://highmountainguides.com/employees/ben-bradford-ifmga-mountain-guide/

Courses are a good option, for example Jagged Globe, ISM or Icicle. A third option is to find a club that goes to the alps. You may find Bruce Goodlad's book Alpine Mountaineering and the BMC alpine dvd useful.

As Mark (Haward) says Ben is really good

His website (the Vertical Fontiers guiding company in Chamonix) is http://verticalfrontiers.com/ and the Alpine Skills course he runs is http://verticalfrontiers.com/mountaineering/alpine-training/

Have a great time
