It's aged like a bottle of fine wine.

Robert was some history with Simpson's storytelling!

Agree, if it wasn’t for Cliffhanger 😂

Yes, there are two (and only two) incidents described in his books involving me. In neither does he let the exact truth get in the way of a good story. Touching the Void is an exceptionally good story🙂

I have to admit to having found that a little far fetched too. Vertical Limit rang much truer for me.

Am I going to have to scour his books for your name now?

I must confess I thoroughly enjoyed them, particularly This Game of Ghosts and the Beckoning Silence.

Hadn't seen it since about 2005, had forgotten how awesome a film (& story of course!), it all is/was .... you couldn't make it up!

You'll only find it once because he replaced me with someone else in the other (otherwise true) incident!

Did anyone else notice the other person in the crevasse with Joe Simpson. He appears for about two seconds in the bottom right hand corner. Blue helmet. He wasn't on his own it turns out.........

I have read the book, seen the film, even seen Joe Simpson talk about it in person. So January last year whilst in Edinburgh I saw the play, intrigued at how it would be staged, it's very interesting. Well worth a view.

I know it was January, but still, is it necessary for at least half the audience to turn up wearing down jackets.
