That really is sad news - was lucky enough to see him at Brixton a year or so ago and was looking forward to seeing him again at a festival this summer (now cancelled obvs).  An absolutely incredible musician, his drumming style was totally unique and instantly recognisable. RIP Tony.

Yes, been listening quite a lot that recently too. Some good stuff on it. Always enjoyed his work with Fela Kuti.

That's excellent!

I love his style so much... The way he played gently, but precisely, not like other great drummers who absolutely pummel the kit (nowt wrong with that of course) his hands half way down the sticks.  It looked effortless...

His breaks and solos always had that feeling where they were slightly behind the beat - rests came where you expected hits and vise versa.  That's clever that.
