Sad news. He was a brilliant player, and a great local advocate for live music.
I remember many nights out at The Pheasant both watching him play, and also watching bands he was promoting play. I bumped into him the morning after one gig he'd promoted, and I asked him how the finances worked out. 'Win some; lose some' was the answer - but he didn't mind as long as people had a good night.
