Is Series 3 worth watching?

I thought Series 1 was really good; but by the end of Series 2 I thought it was getting a bit silly and repetitive, and was being eeked out too far.

So, would I enjoy Series 3?

Series 3 is considerably worse than Series 2 IMHO

In reply to Coel Hellier:

No, it's pants. Like you, we enjoyed the first 2 series' but gave up on this one after 3 episodes.

Very disappointing. Stopping whilst you are ahead would have been good after series 2.

Against the grain but I really like S3 but I liked them all.

Watched all of the first series bar the last ten minutes due to falling asleep and have no real desire to finish watching the first series or subsequent ones.

Against the grain but I was forced by my sister to watch the first episode of Season 1 when season 1 was about 6 episodes in and the world was raving about it, and I thought it was rubbish aside from Jodie Comer's accents and acting. I think I was then made to watch episode 2, not sure. Certainly no interest in further watching!

Series 1 was actually very good, though not as good as made out in all the excitement about Phoebe W-B and the revelation that women can play spies and bad people just like men do, which seems to be the basis of the excitement in my household. Series 2 less so, and 3 is a disappointment.

Cheers. Yes I did gather that Series 1 was warmly received, and I am maybe being a grumpy about it all, but I had a few friends (avid fans) who responded to early episodes of S2 in the same way that most people are now responding to S3

I loved Series 1, thinking that this was something new in television and very clever and funny. Finished watching it at 3am on a Sunday morning.  Really looked forward to series 2 but was disappointed.  Heavier of touch and felt much lazier.  Forced myself to watch to end over about three or four weeks.  Approached series 3 with determination to stop watching if it was same as series 2.  Still watching and hate that it's coming out one episode a week.  It does feel as if it sets up scenes for laughs, then onto next scene for more laughs.  Phoebe Waller Bridge is the clear winner in this programme.  Since she left as writer it's just not the same.  You could do worse than watch it though.  2p.

I agree with the above post. Brilliant first series, second series was disappointing, too complex, but the third series is hugely entertaining, funnier, and peeling away the complexities of Villaneuve's character.

The scene in the farmhouse with her family dancing to Elton John is hilarious, -that whole episode was very different, almost a standalone play.

Series 3 over taxes your willing suspension of disbelief but has flashes of dark brilliance especially in the Central European bits of the story line. 2 weeks ago I was nearly giving up on it, but the last 2 episodes have been well worthwhile.

(trying to avoid spoilers so not telling anything else!)

I find all of it just posh porn. Plenty of gratuitous violence masked up as art.

I watched the first two episodes of series 1 and thought it was all fantastical nonsense from the very beginning.

Agreed. Thought this series has been slow, but the penultimate episode had me laughing out loud. Felt a bit more like the old Killing Eve.
