Guardian article sparked by the publication of a biography of John McGeoch that I’m sure will interest many here:
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/may/04/post-punk-guitarist-john-mcge...

Here’s a review:

it sounds like a rock bio that’s genuinely worth reading.

Thanks for sharing the links.

I was a Fine Art student with John back in the 70s, he was in the year below me and I remember the day I first heard him play guitar. We were all sat around playing guitar (or should I say trying to play guitar) passing round a guitar to play our party pieces, John then picked up the guitar and wow he was fanctastic. Needless to say I never attempted to play a guitar in front of him again, he was very grounded and a thoroughly nice bloke. RIP.

A Kiss in the Dreamhouse is an awesome album, one of my all time favourites.

I thought Magazine were head and shoulders above anything remotely alternative from the UK, and imho none of the bands that followed in their footsteps surpassed or even equalled the quality and musical sophistication of their output.

Christheclimber, great input and good to hear he was a nice guy, which matters.
