If anyone has not seen it yet then it is worth catching up with Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing on iPlayer.  They've just finished the third series.  A nice write up here

Gentle, funny and therapeutic.

It fills the hole left by the Detectorists for those who loved that.

Yes, I've watched a fair few episodes and enjoyed each one. It's pretty blokey and anyone under 50 or female (?) may not get it but they're both around my age and discuss a lot of things I recognise. You don't have to be an angler to enjoy. I enjoyed Detectorists too.

My favourite episode was the one where they were in a pub and Bob's doctor had him on his back on a table describing how he had to cut through his sternum and wrench his ribs apart to get at his heart.  Must have been fun for anyone in the pub having their steak and chips

It is a great series - two old friends having a chat on a river bank. I love it.  Even my somewhat cynical eldest daughter enjoys their gentle humour.
