Wow wow wow wow, an album I managed to forget about before rediscovering. It's absolutely delicious.

Anyone else a fan?

Great review. Captures it perfectly and, as chance would have it, we put it on having just listened to Pavement - Wowee Zowee which you reference in your review. I'd argue the thin thread of country music probably pulls Wowee Zowee a little tighter thematically than IABUTS and yet the dEUS record still works best listened through as an album.

I actually saw them play a double-headliner with Placebo, who they made look ordinary (probably because, comparatively, they really are).

Thanks. On reflection you are right, both WZ and AL are much less varied stylistically although they are just as sprawling, messy, spontaneous and inspired. Curiously I never checked out dEUS' other LPs.
