From the BMC Yorkshire team:

This coming weekend is the first since lockdown was relaxed and as such many people are understandably keen to go climbing. If you are planning to go out, we encourage you to choose your destination with care. As per the BMC advice issued earlier this week, please avoid honeypots. This is particularly relevant in the Dales where communities remain skittish and concerned about a sudden influx of visitors; as such we recommend avoiding Malham, Kilnsey and Gordale in the short term.

Parking may also be an issue; where car parks are closed or parking is not available, go elsewhere rather than risking our access. In addition, please check your destination on the RAD (https://www.thebmc.co.uk/modules/RAD/) and observe any seasonal restrictions.

Please respect local communities, maintain social distance and take care at pinch points if you choose to go out. Have a Plan B, have fun and stay safe!

Many thanks

The Yorkshire Area Team
