The Hole (HVS 5b) Trevallen Cliff
A reminder of the agreed restrictions at Trevallen in Pembrokeshire. Signs are clearly placed, attached to the abseil point, that some climbers seemed unable to understand at the weekend!
No Climbing due to nesting Choughs between "The Energy Funnel’ to ‘Enter the goat’ inclusive plus the traverse line, ‘Old Dog, New Tricks’.
The peregrine are back on the ledge at ‘The Hole’, therefore the restricted area includes ‘Sound of the Suburbs’ to ‘Endangered Species’ including "The Hole".
The main abseil approach past "The Hole" can be used in 2019 but please do not hang around for longer than necessary to avoid disturbing nesting birds.
The route "The Hole", being the easiest route out of Trevellen should only be climbed as an emergency escape.
Due to the continued disturbance of the nests here and also due to the increasing erosion and loose rock on this established abseil descent to Trevellen, we are investigating "closing" this abseil approach an seeing if a new abseil descent to this cliff can be established. This will be signed when done.
