Llanymynech Quarry

Hi folks

Following on from a meeting between the BMC and the two Wildlife Trusts that manage Llanymynech, a quick reminder that Red Walls are now covered by the seasonal restriction due to Peregrines nesting (this year at a new nest site right on the edge of Red Walls). Also, for various reasons, mainly to do with protection of flora from trampling at its base,  Foreigner Walls is de-bolted and should not be climbed on at all.

Following the rockfall of last year, that caused the block with the belay anchors for the route "Sack The Jugglers" to fall to the ground, concerns have been raised about the stability of the large blocky overhang containing the anchors of the neighboring route  "The Stringlers". The route "Night on the Town"  also crosses this area and it would be wise to avoid these routes and it's likely that they may be debolted soon.

Thanks

Cheers for update and continued work Elfyn, just wondered if you meant ‘sack the strugglers’ (route 5 in the new rockfax guide)?

not been for ages so not seen the rockfall but just sounded like the belay on that route?

cheers

Yes - thanks for that, it's route 5 in the book . Easily confused as too many of Gary's routes have similar names  and plays on words!!
