 Team BMC 06 Oct 2022

Come to our next gathering of Peak District climbers and walkers, and get involved in the BMC.

Date: Wednesday 19 October 2022, starting at 7.00 pm
Venue: Bamford Village Institute, S33 0DY

Area meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally. All are welcome.

The meeting is also the 2022 Area AGM, and will include elections for various Area volunteer roles.

See the BMC Local Areas site for more info: https://community.thebmc.co.uk/Event.aspx?id=4426

In reply to Team BMC:

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that the meeting is tomorrow (Wednesday) evening:

  • Both in-person and on zoom (assuming I can focus on two things at once)
  • the annual quiz (with lots of prizes)
  • Free food
  • Loads to discuss including Wildcat access, High Tor tree belays being cut down, Don Whillans / Roaches hut needing some support, hillwalking and clubs updates
  • the area AGM, so you get to vote the area reps in (or out, if that's your preference; it's basically like a weird popularity contest for adults)

Everyone welcome who has an interest in walking or climbing in the Peak, BMC member or not.

Hope to see lots of you then, Andy (area chair)

In reply to Andy Reeve:

It maybe worth saying that for those who don't know Bamford well, Bamford Village Institute is directly opposite the Angler's Rest community pub, cafe and post office (one of the best examples of what a 'pub' can be in the UK, IMHO).

In reply to Offwidth:

Will there be beer to wash down the chips or whatnot?
