Ive ridden this three times before and swore I wasnt going to do it again due to the horrendous state of the roads in some bits of Manchester, but here I am again signed up for the Mad Manc (200km 3400m asc) but I may end up dropping to the Full Manc if Im struggling (175km 3000m asc).
Its all in aid of charity so well worth entering if you are up for it.

Previous riders - any thoughts on tyre choice for the ride?
Im torn between Conti Grand Prix 5000TL (25) as my usual sportive tyres or Schwalbe Durano (28c) which are my tougher but slower training tyres.

All my Audax riding in summer was on Michelin Pro 25c tyres.  Only ever had a couple of punctures in all the years I was riding, so I would just go with your standard choice of summer tyre.

But I do like your choice of winter tyres. My 28c Schwalbe Durano continue to impress me, winter after winter.

In reply to Jim Lancs:

Ta, the Pro4 is a damn good tyre and I might get another pair at some point but the black chili compound in the Contis seems to grip better and gets less cuts

Anybody else riding?
