Great result for Tom Pidcock today.  Not quite MVdP or WvA box office just yet but he's an exciting racer for sure.

Honestly I think he only won because Jumbo went full Movistar and didn’t get organised for the chase. Not just them of course, general terrible work from the entire group 2. That said - Pidcock still needed to attack and build a gap, which he did - very exciting for the future.

The women’s race was actually much better - nice chase from the two SD Works riders who duked it out at the end. Shame CUL missed the jump and didn’t quite get back on, she was looking excellent until then and would have been very interesting to have her in the mix for the final climb.

Yorkshire lad done good!

Full Movistar is a bit harsh.

It was a great race, but yes Pidcock got lucky that they couldn’t get the chase together. Having said that, when it got to a sub 10 second gap, if any of the chasers had the legs they could have bridged over quiet easily.

Chasing down a 60kg scrappy Yorkshire man is harder than it looks.
