Paul Sherwen has passed away at just 62.....a well regarded bloke and impressive pro in his time with a fine palmares in the day when going to ride in Europe was an exceptionally big challenge. I recall the excitement and delight I had as a competitive cyclist in the 80's when Channel 4 started its coverage of the tour and Paul commentated.

Yes, really sad news. Seemed like a really lovely bloke and I loved listening to his commentary of the Tour.

Amen to that. Not all ex-riders are good in the role but Paul was, being both knowledgeable and eloquent.
62 - so young.

Sad news. I remember seeing him win the British road race championship in 1987, the first bike race I went to watch with my Dad.
