Can anyone please suggest some easyish MTB routes, South Lakes.

Possibly around 20 miles, but not technical.

Depends on what you mean by technical, but the fire tracks around Grizedale are a good start if you want completely not technical. Beauty there is you can make your routes as long or as short as you like.

If you want a bit more excitement than a fire track there are some good shorter routes around the Kentmere valley from Staveley, 3 Rivers being the local favourite, but that’s only about 8 miles. You can extend by going over Garburn into Troutbeck, or Stile Lane into Longsleddale, but that does involve some technical riding, Garburn in particular.

James Kirby’s website here is a good start: https://www.mountain-bike-cumbria.co.uk/trails.php

A few rougher sections, but nothing very technical, and a good intro to LD mountain biking.

Thank you for all the suggestions, they have given me some ideas. We will be stopping in Langdale so ideally would not wish to drive at all but happy enough to drive over to Coniston Grizedale to set off.

We tend to like fire roads and bridleways.

Thanks again for the ideas.

Thinking about it, Garburn east to west might fit the bill if he doesn't mind a bit of pushing. The descent to the west is quite easy.

But defo don't go west to east, otherwise you'll be pushing both up and down!

The fatties site has some good stuff. Doing this route from langdale would probably make it pretty much spot on 20 miles...

It includes iron Keld and loughrigg terrace.

Bear in mind that "bridleways" includes a huge spectrum of difficulty, especially in the lake district.  For example, all the pictures on

https://gbmtb.com/en/lake-district-guided-mtb-rides/

are bridleways, but probably gnarlier than you are after?

Has the NF trail reopened? It was technically closed not long ago with shed loads of trees fallen across it (passable but a right ball ache).

All went well. Langdale to back of base whatever campsite, push over to Little Langdale, through near hodge and near iron keld, Hawksehead hill, along over top of Grizedale past parkamoor, the descend to nib thwwaite where I managed a double summersault, bottom of Coniston, up to torver for a shandy, by the lake and through a refugee camp at Coniston Hall, up through Tilberthawaite, got a bollocking as we cycled up to Blea Tarn, ZOOOM down the other side. 35 Miles and 5 Jelly Babies.
