The first Michigan Ice Fest took place in 1983 as a way of providing a source of inspiration for climbing enthusiasts; something that remains central to the Ice Fest's mission. As well as offering a chance to learn and develop new climbing skills, it's also an opportunity to connect with friends and fellow climbers from around the Midwest.
One of the best things about attending the Michigan Ice Fest is the people. At the Ice fest you will climbers of all levels and ages enjoying the ice. During the day everyone does their thing, but in the evenings everyone packs together in a room above Sydney's Restaurant in Munising and listens to the professionals tell stories of their latest adventures. This year's speakers include Benjamin Erdmann, Fabrizio Zangrilli, Joe Josephson, Zoe Hart, Mark Wilford and Will Gadd.
