Alpkit Filo Goose Down Jacket

© Alpkit
Filo has been updated fairly significantly this season with new fabrics and a new zip. These changes mean Filo is up to 20% lighter* (based on a Men's L) and even more compressible. The new fabric is lighter, more water resistant and has a slightly more up to date look to it. It's not as dull as the old model but we have deliberately chosen a fabric that isn't as shiny as many of the jackets on the market. The best way to think of it is like Silk paint, not as dull as matt and not as shiny as gloss.

The Filo remains stuffed with high quality 90/10 700+ (European scale) fill power white hand-sorted goose down, but with the new lighter weight ripstop nylon means the down fill does not have to support the same weight of fabric, this means it will loft better and provide superior insulation.

When the cold weather really bites you'll appreciate a down jacket with a hood and the Filo is equally at home in the park or on top of a mountain. Classic stitch through construction keeps the weight to a minimum and prevents any down migration in the jacket. Elasticated drawcord hem, Lycra cuffs and down filled collar and zip baffle all help to trap air and insulate your body. External fleece lined pockets make a welcome home for cold hands. Zipped internal pocket provides a safe heaven for valuables.

*The Filo is primarily a Autumn/Winter stock item and no new stock is ordered in for Spring and Summer, so if you have an adventure planned we always recommend to buy when you can, especially with demand being so high.*

Got mine in the post yesterday, only ordered on Monday. So super service from Alpkit (as per usual). It looks warm and was walking to the car today. Not long to Scotland so we'll see then.
