BMC Chief Financial Officer

Full-time permanent position

£70-£80,000 per annum.

We are looking for an individual who has a strong sector-relevant finance background, as well as being highly commercially minded. They will understand the importance of solid processes, procedures, and systems as the bedrock for a well-functioning organisation.

The ideal candidate will have professional accounting qualifications, along with considerable sector relevant experience. They will be able to demonstrate a strong record of accomplishment in supporting the commercial aspects of not-for-profit organisations, as well as being someone who can bring sound financial analysis to bear on execution – ultimately leading to increased revenue and enhanced ROI.

This is an exciting opportunity, that offers the right candidate the prospect of playing a vital role in shaping and leading the implementation of an ambitious growth plan for this vibrant and 76,000 strong members' organisation. At the core of this Senior Leadership Team role is the responsibility for the modernisation and advancement of our finance function (including financial systems, processes, forecasting and budgeting, accounting, control, and reporting). Additionally, the CFO will lead on business planning and developing performance metrics (strategic and operational as well as financial, including ROI on initiatives), and will support, monitor, and guide reporting against business cases.

The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is the representative body for climbers, hillwalkers and mountaineers in England and Wales, for nearly 80 years we have worked on behalf of our communities to maintain access to outdoor spaces and support them to make the most of their activities responsibly and sustainably.
