The BMC is seeking a Chair to lead the Board of Directors and build consensus across the organisation in a time of development and change.

This important new position will focus on optimising and delivering the BMC's future strategy, working closely with the President and CEO to ensure the BMC remains member focused and continues to represent the best interests of all those who participate in the diverse range of activities we represent.

The Chair will be a high calibre individual with the skills, time and energy to strengthen and grow the BMC, working with staff and volunteers to ensure a bright future for the organisation and the activity as a whole. Candidates are encouraged both from within the BMC's membership and from others with a genuine interest and involvement in climbing and hill walking activities.

This challenging role is entirely voluntary. The rewards for the candidate will be the chance to make a contribution in a complex, multi-functional organisation, working with a talented and motivated team of staff and volunteers on behalf of a membership of 85,000. All reasonable travel and expenditure will be reimbursed in accordance with the BMC's policies.

The closing date for applications is 9.00 am on Monday 10 September 2018. Interviews will take place on Friday 21 September 2018 at the BMC office in Manchester.
