We're looking for a talented, creative digital marketing & e-commerce executive/manager (depending on demonstrable experience) to help make our online presence world-class.

Your goal will be to increase product sales and improve conversion, through developing and introducing creative ways to promote our products online. You'll be working closely with our Head of Marketing and Customer Services & Operations team, as well as external web developers and creative agencies.

This role is all about ensuring that our website and marketing channels are used to increase sales and conversion rates while growing our brand visibility and engagement across the various channels. Using your ability to think like a customer, you'll develop marketing promotions and use creative marketing techniques to excite our audience about our world-class products. We want you to improve the customer journey, which you should do through close monitoring on all channels, reviewing activity and traffic and making recommendations for improvements.

About you

We're keen to hear from you if you've got a passion for the outdoors and being active in the mountains - essential traits for you to understand our target audience. We're looking for an experienced trader with previous digital marketing experience, as well as being a creative thinker. You'll have a proven track record of growing traffic, conversion and online sales across the whole digital spectrum.

Core responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyse and manage website traffic
  • Analyse customer journey and behaviour, as well as website conversion
  • Work within the Marketing team to develop and implement a digital content plan, driving traffic and sales
  • Lead digital improvement projects with the support of internal and external developers
  • Continuously seek to improve the digital customer experience for both B2C and B2B customers
  • Build and develop new analytical tools, procedures and policies
  • Implement updates to website content as needed
  • Champion SEO/SEM to maximise search visibility across platforms
  • Liaise with other departments to help evolve processes and drive the online business
  • Manage the German language B2C website

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • A demonstrable passion for outdoor sports and activities is essential
  • Experience of working with digital partners and agencies
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop/improve business processes
  • Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess an exceptional command of the English language with an ability to write engaging and relevant copy
  • Be highly organised and analytical with a keen eye for detail
  • Be self-motivated, results-driven and innovative, with the ability to multi-task
  • Have the interest, energy and flexibility to work in the fast-paced environment of a growing business and wear multiple hats
  • Have experience with managing e-commerce platforms and digital presence for consumer brands or equivalent
  • Have a basic understanding of HTML/CSS and web standards, or a willingness to learn
  • Hold a higher education degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or a related field
  • Have a minimum of 2 -3 years' experience in e-commerce & marketing; outdoor, sporting goods and internet retailer experience strongly preferred
  • Possess strong analytical and computer skills
  • Have experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Facebook Analytics
  • Candidates must be authorised to work in the UK as the role will be based at our Northumberland HQ in a full-time capacity (none negotiable)
  • A basic (or fluent) understanding of German is desirable but not essential

Salary

The salary is competitive with a yearly annual bonus based on meeting personal and company performances. Other benefits include access to a very healthy staff discount on Montane products and possible entry to our endurance races.
