Classic Winter Beinn Alligin Traverse
Whether you're a seasoned climber, or a hillwalker taking early steps into winter mountaineering, this airy but accessible grade I ridge traverse is about as close to perfection as you'll get on a Scottish mountain, says Dan Bailey.
I think it's always amazing when you are on the arete looking back at the Ben (I've only ever descended via the CMD arete, not gone up) that the Ben goes from being this brooding hulk that it tends to be from all other directions to this pointy "proper-looking" mountain.
Great pictures James.
Fantastic article and pictures. Tomo I'm off climbing in Jebel Jais here in the UAE. I miss the snow!
