Asmund – Jöttnar's New NeoShell Mountain Jacket

Jöttnar introduces the new Asmund - a focused, lightweight, technical climbing shell, constructed from the same 3-layer grade of Polartec® NeoShell® as its award-winning cousin, the Hymir.

Tommy Kelly, Jöttnar co-founder, says, “Sharing the same waterproof and highly breathable membrane as both the Hymir and the Bergelmir, the Asmund provides an equally effective barrier against the elements.  Its hard-wearing micro-ripstop nylon face fabric weighs in at only 96g p/m², making it the perfect tool where packability and light weight are valued.

“Like the Hymir, we wanted to keep the weight penalty to a minimum but at the same time avoid the ‘silly lightness’ that is easily achieved but always comes at the cost of durability and harsh weather performance.  It comes in at 385g and with a properly configured mountain hood, large twin chest pockets, full-length zip and an internal valuables pocket, we’re proud of the result.”

The Asmund has water repellent YKK Aquaguard zips externally throughout, harness compatible chest pockets which will comfortably swallow an OS map, a wire stiffened hood brim with mouldable laminate peak and anti-snag split hem draw cords.

Available to purchase directly from Jöttnar or through its network of specialist retailers.
