Search For Missing Brothers Underway in Wester Ross

Mountain Rescue Teams are engaged in a search for two brothers missing in the Coulin Forest since Thursday. Alan, 56, and Neil Gibson, 63, and their black pointer dog left Strathcarron at about 07:45 on Thursday, and are thought to have been heading for Achnashellach.

Teams from Torridon, Kintail and the RAF have been searching a wide area including Fuar Tholl, Sgorr Ruadh and Beinn Liath Mhor in conditions that have been described as 'tricky'. Coastguard helicopters have also been out searching for the pair.

Police Scotland have released a photo of the men, and are urging anyone who has seen them or their dog to get in touch.

Update 08:45 11/02/18

Police have announced that the body of Alan Gibson was found on Saturday evening. The search for his brother Neil is ongoing.
