Volunteers Sought for Nevis Path Work Day

The Nevis Landscape Partnership are running a 'path party' on Sunday 4th September, and are calling for volunteer workers to help out for the day.

Do you know what you are capable of? Take a look at this picture:

That is a pretty powerful example of what can be acheived for our mountains with the power of our hardy hill-loving volunteers. If the work above was carried out by contractors, like on other parts of Ben Nevis, it would have cost upwards of £30,000.

I work for the Nevis Landscape Partnership, a Heritage Lottery funded programme, and we host monthly footpath work parties all over the area; Allt a'Mhuillin, Ben Nevis, Glen Nevis & Polldubh.

We want to highlight the very real cost of keeping paths safe, erosion-free and enjoyable for every pair of boots that treads on them. If we can get big numbers every month at our footpath parties we can acheive so much with volunteer power for the benefit of not only the landscape but for everyone who uses it.

Our next Path Party is on Sunday 4th September and will be taking place on Ben Nevis. Can you spare a few hours to give one of Scotland's most popular and in-demand paths a bit of TLC? If you want to know more about getting involved with what we do head to our website now or drop me an e-mail.
