The waterbus service which operates on Loch Lomond will now take in several new locations, making boat access to walks a more viable option this summer.

“This year, it’s easier than ever for visitors to leave their car at home and explore Loch Lomond and beyond" said Mairi Bell, Head of Tourism for Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, which attracts 4 million people annually.

"We’ve seen a rise in people wanting to take in the spectacular scenery of the National Park by foot, by bike, by boat, or by a combination of the three. Now, more than ever, visitors can join up their journeys and experience a wide range of activities that allow them to make the most of their visit.”

New sailings link Loch Lomond Shores in Balloch to Inchmurrin and Inchcailloch, giving walkers the opportunity to explore two of Loch Lomond’s larger islands. 

In addition the frequency of the service between Luss and Balmaha has been increased - handy if you're using it to get to Conic Hill and various other popular trails hereabouts.

And up at the northern end of the loch the boat between Ardlui and Ardleish gives access to the comparatively remote east shore, and one of the most scenic and challenging stretches of the West Highland Way.
