Logbook for Franco Cookson OLD

Best Climbing Experience

I've enjoyed most of them really, but those trips away for a few days are always the best. For example: 07/8 winter season with Ian and Dave on the Ben, which turned into a great tale of the folly of youth. Trips to Gritstone, featuring hilarious nights with no sleeping bags. Ridiculous mopedding outings in storms and floods. Summer trips to the lakes and Wales, with never quite having the perfect conditions. and of coarse those endless days spent plodding around the moors- from the days of old, when getting to the crag was a 15 mile epic; to the lazier days when we got scared and bivied under rocks eating chicken. 2009 has been one huge adventure. Even though I feel i've done nothing, i'm sure i'll look back and actually be amazed at what actually occurred this year. The FA of Roseberry Topping and the Whitestone Traverse are two things I never thought I'd get round to doing. getting from the stage of ticking the odd super soft E5, to feeling pretty steady at it is also something which means a lot to me. Trying those LGPs of the moors and them not being too far away is also a pretty mint feeling and all the people i've met through climbing this year almost makes up for me leaving the moors. And discovering a love for mixed climbing. :-) experiences featuring Twig.
