Detailed description
1
SK2377380255 Follow the small tarmac private road (a public footpath) along the riverbank. Gates let you avoid the cattlegrids if you wish. Immediately before the farm house, turn right through a gate into the first of many pleasant grassy fields alongside the river.
2
SK2453177856 Cross the road at Grindleford, ignoring the first footpath that leads up a track. Just before the road bridge, take the second footpath though a gate, diagonally across another grassy field. The river is no longer visible as the path continues along the valley through woods & fields.
3
SK2429876486 Turn around just before you reach Froggatt village and follow your route back to make it an even 10km. Alternatively, you can continue on trails near the riverbank to Calver, Baslow, Chatsworth Park ... and beyond.
