Crag features

The southeast side of the West Hill is a sandstone cliff that rises around 50m in a number of tiers from a flat grassy area at the bottom. It faces the sea and is a lovely suntrap. The sun-facing rocks dry quickly, however, the opposite sides remain damp for a lot longer.

The routes that have been produced so far range from f3-f6b. With plenty of scope for many more climbs of similar grades or harder.

Take a second rope for belays.

Also take a brush, as unfortunately the local kids think it is funny to smash glass on the rocks. I advise checking the top outs of climbs first to make sure they are clean.

Approach notes

There is free parking on the West Hill around Priory Road. Otherwise there is parking on the sea-front.
