Sandstone crags up to and around the Raw Head summit. The sad truth of it is, there is no worthwhile climbing here. Whilst the sandstone cliffs may appear to host some striking lines the reality is that they are too weak to entertain the idea of climbing. I have written about a few potential areas of interest below. However you are much better off seeking your sport elsewhere.

There appears to be a small disused quarry just left of the path as you are walking from Coppermine lane to Raw Head. Substantial gardening and cleaning would be required to produce some routes, which would likely come in the form of boulder problems. In all likelihood the rock here is probably too weak. This is definitely more effort than it is worth, even for a cheshire sandstone esoterica enthusiast. All the way along the path to the Raw Head summit small crags and faces at bouldering height can be found left and right of the path. I have visited a few of these and they seem too loose to bother with. After the raw head summit if you continue along the path heading vaguely south a very striking cliff face emerges from the trees. Unfortunately the base of this cliff is crumbly, which is a shame as if it was solid it would probably be an OK climb.
