986m. This description is a there and back route for this who wish to just take in Alligins two Munroes.
Begin at the car park on the west side, just over the bridge that spans the outflow of Abhain Coire Mhic Nobuil. Take the west side of the stream, not the more obvious east side path.
Follow the path over a deer fence, whereby the path begins to curve left up into Coire nan Loagh. Take in ever steepening grid lines gradually turning north to top out at the first Monroe of Tom na Gruagaich 922m.
Continue north from the summit, down the rocky ridge. Care required but nowhere difficult. In bad weather beware of the precipice to your right. The way swings right to take in a minor summit before tackling the steep hike past the impressive Eag Dhubh before gaining the second Munroe of Sgurr Mhor 986m.
The full traverse would mean the longer route over the Horns of Alligin. Described under the full traverse description. The shorter way off is back the way you came.
