Lyon Equipment: Brand Manager - Outdoor Living, Recruitment Premier Post, 1 weeks @ GBP 75pw Lyon Equipment Limited (Lyon) is an employee owned company serving the outdoor, work at height and rescue markets with ‘equipment and expertise to venture further’.
We manufacture our own Lyon branded products, provide technical training and distribute a portfolio of trusted brands.

We are currently going through an exciting business transition. We are recruiting for this new role in order to further enhance the service we offer to our suppliers and customers.


The Role

Working in liaison with; each brand, our sales and marketing teams and PR consultant. Responsible for promoting profitable sales of the ‘Outdoor Living’ portfolio – currently: GSI, Julbo, Maillon Rapide, Buff Pro, Light My Fire, Hydrapak, Katadyn, Optimus, Trek’n Eat, Solo Stove, Joshua Tree, Gripmaster, Nortec and Lyon branded product.
The role will focus on growing our portfolio of brands in established, new and niche markets. For this reason we are looking for a strategic thinker with the ability to balance a diverse workload.
The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the outdoors and a technical understanding of
our products and the activities they relate to. We are looking for someone with knowledge of camping, glamping, trail running, climbing, bushcraft and survival along with experience of commercial buying and sales within outdoor retail or distribution. The position is based at Tebay and reports to the General Manager - Outdoor

The Job Will Involve

-Regular communication with the Supplier’s country manager for each brand – agreeing sales deadlines, targets and strategy for the UK
-Development of Point of Sale materials within budgets
-Working with the General Manager - Outdoor and Lyon PR consultant developing marketing promotions and advertising to maximise brand visibility, profitability and sales
-Implementation of agreed plans
-Presenting brand strategy, training and support to Lyon sales teams and customers as appropriate
-Supporting our purchasing department with information on market/customer trends to facilitate
appropriate stock holding
-Managing sample requirements, allocations, trade show and show room displays
-Participation at UK and overseas shows and supplier meetings
-Keeping up to date with the current and future product, specifications and usage including those of our competitors
-Seeking new opportunities and identifying any UK special product requirements

The Person We Seek Will Meet The Following Criteria

-Have a proven track record of sales management, promotion and development
-Have an understanding of merchandising and a keen eye for detail
-Be able to analyse data in respect of product pricing, margins and sales/market trends
-Have a confident and outgoing manner with excellent interpersonal skills
-Be organised, articulate, numerate and computer literate
-Be able to prioritise and manage a varied workload
-Be self-motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team
-Reside within daily commuting distance of Tebay
-Hold a current full car driving licence (preferably clean) and a current passport
