This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative PR professional to join our energetic marketing teams.
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic PR Coordinator that can work fluidly between both Rab and Lowe Alpine marketing teams to produce innovative PR campaigns and contribute to the overall direction of both brands.

PR Coordinator (Lowe Alpine and Rab) Job Description

Role objectives


• To achieve maximum PR exposure in trade and consumer titles (online and print)
• To develop and deliver seasonal PR strategies to support marketing campaigns, new product launches, press events and product reviews/gear testing
• To develop close relationships with the marketing and product teams and external editors/gear reviewers/media/press/opinion formers to ensure brand exposure and the growth of both brands

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that products are accurately positioned in all relevant gear reviews in trade and consumer titles (online/print)
• Maximise product placement in online and offline media throughout the seasons
• Organise for all products to be delivered to editors/gear reviewers/media/press/opinion formers in a timely manner
• Ensure complete understanding of the collections and products being tested and promoted
• Write and edit copy for all product review and placements for trade and consumer titles
• Build and cultivate relationships with editors/gear reviewers/media/press/opinion formers
• Research, write and distribute press releases for product launches and other marketing activities ie athlete news, films, trade shows etc to targeted media
• Liaise with the press, answering their enquiries in a timely fashion
• Develop and create press and PR opportunities across both brands in line with seasonal marketing campaigns
• Seed video content with relevant key opinion formers/key influencers in relevant industries
• Proactively spot opportunities to news jump and source opportunities for comment, interviews, and create content to capitalize on those
• Create and manage a press/product review calendar for the brands with flexibility for creative/ trend response
• Monitor brand mentions, product reviews and create monthly evaluation reports including ROI / AVE / OTS / Reach / SOV
• Work closely as requested with other marketing team members to support cross departmental activity

Skills & Experience

• Degree or equivalent level qualification ideally in Communications, Marketing or PR
• At least 2 years’ experience ideally in a Communications, Marketing or PR role
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to write lively and engaging copy
• A creative streak with a natural ability to come up with innovative ideas and clever media approaches
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships
• Understanding of how to build key influencer relationships
• Affinity with technical product and brands
• Knowledge and passion for the outdoors industry would be advantageous
• Excellent organisation skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic and a positive approach
• Good attention to detail

This role can be based in either Alfreton or Kendal and will require regular/weekly travel between both sites.
