Banff Mountain Film Festival Returns for the 2015 UK & Ireland Tour

The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is once again touring across the UK and Ireland, showcasing a selection of the best climbing and adventure films from one of the world’s most prestigious mountain film festivals.

This year the Banff Tour will visit more than 50 locations across the UK and Ireland over the next four months.

This year’s line-up features climbers Alex Honnold and the Stonemasters, and include a whole host of mountain and adventure films, including surfing in Iceland, paragliding in the Alps, mountain biking in the Isle of Skye and Yorkshire, skiing in Patagonia and climbing in Alaska, China and the desert towers in the US.  Three of the films featuring on this year’s tour include:

SUFFERFEST 2 - Experience a true sufferfest with Cedar Wright and Alex Honnold as they attempt to climb 45 of America's most iconic desert towers - all linked together by bike! This film has it all: gale force winds, hard climbing, snow, huge desert towers, loose rock, and a lot of suffering!

DRAWN - Follow climber Jeremy Collins as he embarks on four expeditions, from the Venezuelan Amazon, to the China-Mongolian Border, to the northern reaches of Canada, and to Yosemite Valley in California.

STONEMASTERS - In the 1970's a legendary brash group of climbers known as the "Stonemasters" arrived in Yosemite Valley. They applied their talents to free-climbing and performed some of the most impressive climbs of that era. This portrait of the Stonemasters (which is part of the longer multi award-winning Valley Uprising film) highlights their meteoric rise to fame and Lynn Hill's legendary free one-day ascent of The Nose on El Capitan.
