Surrey Sports Park Climbing Centre, Guildford, are looking for enthusiastic, lively and motivated individuals to join the team.

What jobs are on offer?

SSP are currently looking for passionate climbers to join the team as:

Duty Climbing Instructor – Must hold a minimum of CWA or SPA Training

We are currently seeking outgoing and friendly individuals to join the team as Duty Instructors at SSP. You will ensure the climbing walls are well used and maintained to a high standard, offering users a safe, exciting and challenging facility where they can climb in a friendly and welcoming environment. You will provide supervision and advice to individual and group climbers as required. You will be responsible for inspiring and motivating customers of all ages, backgrounds and experiences. You will also be responsible for other essential duties such as daily climbing wall safety checks, customer service, bookings and other work as required. You must be flexible and available to work weekends and/or afternoons/evenings during the week.

Climbing Centre Assistant – Must be a competent climber

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the team as Climbing Centre Assistant. As Climbing Centre Assistant you will work alongside our Bookings Co-ordinators and act as the initial point of contact for any bookings including our growing school group bookings and be responsible for the day to day management of our membership database. Initially this is not an active instructing role and so no previous experience or qualification is necessary but you will be expected to perform bouldering inductions, competency tests and be able to answer any technical questions that customers may ask of you. Training towards becoming a qualified instructor will be offered with extensive opportunity for assisting on sessions and gaining hand on experience. For the right candidate the role could develop into a "Duty Climbing Instructor" position; training and support will be provided.

Weekend Climbing Instructor – Must have completed CWA/SPA Training

Working Hours: Part time (16 hours per week at weekends)

We have two great new climbing instructor positions, to start immediately; we’re looking for enthusiastic, passionate and motivated instructors to join our team. You will be delivering climbing sessions to a variety of user-groups, delivering NICAS to our weekend kids club, assisting with the coaching of our very successful Junior Academy and a broad range of other sessions. You will also be responsible for other essential duties such as daily climbing wall safety checks, customer service, bookings and other work as required.

Both jobs are to start on a part-time basis with the possibility for growth into a full-time contract based on performance and business requirements.

We are open to requests for job shares or other options such as working one weekend in three for these positions. In these instances pay will be pro-rata.

We are looking for a minimum of CWA training + extensive experience.
