GB Climbing Teams Have New Official Sponsors

Sherpa Adventure Gear, Timbuk2 and the Epicentre have teamed up with the BMC and are now the official sponsors to all of the GB Climbing Teams, which include Junior Lead, Senior Lead, Junior Bouldering, Senior Bouldering and the Para Climbing Team. The GB climbing teams, which comprises of around 60 athletes and 20 coaching staff, will all be wearing Sherpa Adventure Gear competition vests, T-shirts, soft shells and insulated jackets for all of their competitions and training events worldwide for the next three years, plus the classic Timbuk2 messenger bag for carrying other training and competition essentials.

Nick Colton, BMC Deputy CEO commented: “The GB teams have had some great results recently and having quality support is important to ensure a professional outlook for teams at events in the UK, Europe and around the world.”

Ian Dunn, GB Team Manager added: “Having all of the GB climbing disciplines sponsored together with Sherpa Adventure Gear, The Epicentre and Timbuk2, brings the team into line with all the other International Teams on the IFSC list, and continues the BMC's efforts in developing a professional attitude within the team on the worldwide stage of competition climbing.”

Toby Davies from Sherpa Adventure Gear explains a little about Sherpa Adventure Gear clothing, which the teams will be wearing: "Not only do Sherpa Adventure Gear manufacture fantastic clothing we are also socially responsible, for example all of our hats are hand knitted in the villages of Nepal to keep income within the family unit where it is needed most. We now have a unique opportunity to give back to the grass roots of the Great British outdoors. We are very proud to be sponsoring all of the GB climbing teams, we wish them success in their aspirations and look forward to working closely with them for many years."
