BMC Student Work Placement Opportunity

© UKC News
The BMC is seeking a student studying a marketing related subject (either degree or masters level) to undertake a 6 month work placement at the BMC office in Manchester.

This will be an unpaid position (with basic expenses) focusing on marketing and fundraising for the British Climbing Team and the promotion of the BMC climbing competitions. This subject matter could make for excellent dissertation projects and would be a useful addition to the candidate's CV. The student would work closely with the BMC Climbing Walls and Competitions Officer and other BMC staff.

The student would not need to be in the office full time, as the majority of this work could be undertaken via the internet connection. An interest in climbing and a knowledge of the climbing industry is preferable but not essential. There will be an allowance of £50.00 per week to cover basic expenses.

For more information on the role and application please contact rob@thebmc.co.uk or call 0161 438 3318.

I'm also looking for a student of architecture, although i'll consider other degrees, to build my house extension and ensuite toilet. You will of course do it for free, but it will be a good opportunity to build your CV. Also offering positions for Gastronomy students to be my personal cook, landscaping students to do my garden, and physiotherapy students to give me massages. I'll pay your travelcard and offer you free tea, though you'll have to bring the sugar yourself. This is an unmissable opportunity. Please contact me in my Nigerian address enclosing your bank account details and PIN number.

This what similar to my reaction on reading this post. When i went on work placement for my degree I was paid around £14k a year. I thought that was rediculous, but £50 a week!!

That doesn't even meet the national minimum wage, how could you even think of offering such a low pay scale. How can you justify that?
